Rehearsals – Waiting for Brando
In a room in the old Police Station on Lark Lane, our imagination is being brought to Life by Carl, Paul, Joe and Danny – the four actors playing the roles in Waiting for Brando. We visited them after just two days of full on rehearsals, and were more than impressed by what we saw. Danny and Joe, playing Eddie and Vinnie, two Liverpool seamen, were already well into their characters and making the words stand up and fly off the page. It was a great experience, and the first time we’ve ever seen our words come to life like that. I must admit it almost brought a tear to my eye more than once, the second time with laughter. Carl has been putting them through their paces with some games, some sport, etc., and it’s paying off big time. It’s fascinating to listen to an actor giving you the back story and the memories of a character you created from your own imagination. The tickets are selling well and I expect they’ll be playing to a full house each night, and they deserve it with the amount of work they have already put in. The audience won’t be disappointed.
