Set Design by Nina Patel-Grainger
For those of you who have seen the photos of the set and are asking who our set designer is, I’m really pleased to let you know that she is Nina Patel-Grainger. Nina studied theatre design at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and graduated in 2010. She designed Endz for the Liverpool Everyman’s community tour and Sum of Parts and We Sing Faster in the City, two pieces in Anthology by Slung Low, also at the Everyman. Subsequently she was assistant designer on Slung Low’s Mapping the City, a sprawling 3 hour promenade piece around the city of Hull. In her final year at LIPA she designed Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the Unity and devised and directed Shadow Snatcher at the Kazimir. She has also been a puppet-maker, prop-maker and painter for companies including, 20 Stories High, the Liverpool Lantern Company, Liverpool Playhouse, and Liverpool Scenic Workshop. Nina was a finalist for the Linbury Prize, a competition run by the National Theatre for emerging theatre designers. Currently she is working as design assistant at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
